Which boilers do we recommend?
All of the gas boilers we fit are high efficiency condensing boilers. We install leading makes of boilers: Glowworm and Ideal boilers. Both makes of boilers are well-established, reputable brands in the Irish market. They come with 7 or 10 year parts and labour warranty, depending on the make and model chosen. They are high efficiency boilers which are incredibly reliable and definitely built to last.
Glow-Worm Boilers
Glow-Worm boilers are reliable and energy-efficient; reducing your fuel consumption, energy bills, and carbon footprint. Glow-Worm pride themselves on manufacturing innovative appliances with high fuel-efficiency – choose a Glow-worm boiler for heating and hot water you can rely on.
Selecting the right boiler for your home is an important decision. You need one that meets your needs, will stand the test of time and doesn’t blow a hole in your budget. Whether you opt for a combi or system boiler, your new Glow-worm appliance will be kind to the environment and your bank balance.
Glow-Worm Combi Boilers
The Glow-Worm Energy combi boiler is an ErP A rated boiler that is small enough to fit perfectly in a kitchen cupboard. The Energy combi boiler comes with a great range of outputs, attractive modern design, bright easy-to-use interface and a choice of controls.
Combi boilers can only be installed where the existing pipework is suitable for the installation. There will also need to be sufficient mains water pressure. If you wish to enquire about a combi boiler, we will be happy to discuss it with you. Combi boilers are not suitable for every household.
These boilers use an aluminium heat exchanger which is designed to last longer and reduce your energy bills. The heat exchanger is also super quiet – you’ll barely even hear your boiler when it’s on! The compact size and rear flue option gives it great flexibility to install it in more spaces, including kitchen cupboards. The Energy combi boiler also has a highly efficient, modulating, Grundfos pump which lowers your running costs as it skillfully adapts to the actual heating and hot water demand in your home.
Combi or System Boiler?
Both manufacturers supply Condensing System boilers and Condensing Combination boilers. Traditionally in Ireland people had a system boiler and a hot water cylinder. The system boiler would heat the radiators and the hot water cylinder. Nowadays, with improved water pressure in many areas of Limerick, it is possible to fit the more efficient condensing combination boiler (where water pressure is sufficient). The advantage to fitting this type of boiler is that you can separate your heating requirements from your hot water usage - no need for a hot water cylinder and free-up space in your hot-press! Whenever you turn on a hot water tap, the boiler will supply you with hot water, on demand. So if you only use a little hot water, you only HEAT a little hot water! No more wasteful heating of a large hot water cylinder....and no more running out of hot water just when you need it!
